While nobody will deny that we must respect the dignity of an unborn human life, we should also respect on moral or ethical grounds the decision of an individual to decline taking a vaccine that is derived from aborted foetal cell lines that are used in its research and production process.

​

This article does NOT condemn vaccination against Covid-19 but offers a disapproval of a specific type of vaccine amongst the many vaccines that were tested at the time, namely, the vaccine that uses cell lines from aborted foetuses in its research and production process.

​

Of the more than 175 Covid-19 vaccines that are being developed worldwide, there are more than 60 that are into clinical trials and at least one vaccine that uses foetal cell lines generated from Human Embryonic Kidney cells from the remains of a voluntary aborted foetus.

​

For instance, in Australia, it would mean preferring the Novavax or Pfizer vaccines (or the Moderna vaccine) over the AstraZeneca vaccine. In August 2020, three of Australia's most senior archbishops wrote to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, criticising the vaccine being developed at Oxford University, which they said made use of "a cell line cultured from an electively aborted human foetus".

Anglican Archbishop Glenn Davies, Catholic Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher and Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia Archbishop Makarios said they supported a COVID-19 vaccine in principle but harvesting "foetal tissue was deeply immoral".

​

However there have been other vaccines which use the "human diploid cell lines" originally derived from human foetal tissue. These include the rubella, hepatitis A and rabies vaccines among others. So, in some respects this ethical issue is in history though there have been ‘conscientious objectors’ who have declined accepting these vaccines.

​

The Catholic Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith has in a statement[1] on 21st December 2020 declared their support for ethically uncompromised vaccines over ethically compromised ones where one has a choice, but has also declared that “ it is morally acceptable to receive Covid-19 vaccines that have used cell lines from aborted foetuses in their research and production process” in extenuating circumstances such as related to distribution, availability, storage … transport conditions of vaccines thus necessitating one to opt for an ethically compromised vaccine and where one has no choice.

The CDF document goes on to explain: “The fundamental reason for considering the use of these vaccines morally licit is that the kind of cooperation in evil (passive material cooperation) in the procured abortion from which these cell lines originate is, on the part of those making use of the resulting vaccines, remote. The moral duty to avoid such passive material cooperation is not obligatory if there is a grave danger, such as the otherwise uncontainable spread of a serious pathological agent --in this case, the pandemic spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19”.

 

The contents of this CDF document may not sit well with some, including conscientious objectors! Why? Let us apply some context here and bring in a Spiritual dimension with an added private revelation.

For those of us who have their hands on their spiritual pulse related to the current world events and are following the unravelling of the Book of Revelation as well as the Fatima Prophecies – are aware of the spreading culture of death and atheism.

​

Fr. Gobbi in his Book “Marian Movement of Priests” has noted: “With subtle refinement, evil has been spread under the guise of good; sin, as an exercise of one's own freedom; and transgression of the law of God, as a new conquest on the part of this poor and perverted humanity[2].”

​

And furthermore: “The powers which are directing and arranging human events, according to their perverse plans, are the dark and diabolic powers of evil. They have succeeded in bringing all humanity to live without God. They have spread everywhere the error of theoretical and practical atheism”.[3]

 

"This 'diabolic vaccine'[4] is a product of a holocaust offering[5]. It is from this sinful offering – this aborted foetus of a child made in the image and likeness of God – that Satan is seeking to defile countless of souls through this ploy of his to ‘destroy one’s life and even one’s health’[6] This is a prophetic warning given to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary through the seer Iveta Fernandes of Foymont, Canada[7].

​

Catholic teaching acknowledges a relationship between the spirits – the spiritual – and us mortals here on earth. If we are not vigilant, we can easily fall into Satan’s snare and get spiritually defiled resulting in loss of our soul!

​

The purpose of writing this article is to request our readers to discern both morally and spiritually on the choice of the Covid-19 vaccine and to re-examine this issue in the light of the above revelations.
